Bobcats vs. Cavs Game - Charlotte Photography

Last weekend I had a rare opportunity presented to me. A friend in the biz who is a professional sports photographer obtained a press pass for me to shoot the Bobcats game with him. We were playing the Cavs, so I couldn't say "no".

I've never been to a Bobcats game before, and if I ever go again, it will never live up to this. Once you've had fine wine, who wants PBR?!? What an amazing night... seriously one of the coolest things I've ever done in my life.

Sell out crowd, HUGE win by the Bobcats over the Cavs, got to see Shaq & LeBron, and last but not least I got my first taste of paparazzi as Nicky Hilton was in town to open the new nightclub, Butter.

Audrey Turned One!

My sweet baby girl turned one on Friday. We had her big party on Saturday with 22 people at our house! It turned out so well. She was a little taken back, but plowed into her cake none the less. The theme was cupcakes, and I went all out!

Special thanks to Polka Dot Bake Shop in Park Road Shopping Center for supplying each of our families with cupcake party favors. Cloud 9 Photography and Polka Dot Bake Shop are both local Charlotte "Boilermaker-Owned" businesses!

Happy Birthday Audrey! - Charlotte Baby & Children's Photography

My sweet baby Audrey is turning 1 next month. Based on the horrid forecast upon us, yesterday appeared to be a fantastic day to take her pics (sunny and 50). I brought Ava along and got a few of her too. My girls are growing up too fast! p.s. those baby blues are REAL! I can thank my hubby for giving both of those to my girls. (My eyes are green.)

Help for Haiti... just by booking me as your Charlotte Wedding Photographer today!

Hey everyone... the devestation in Haiti is beyond words. I watch the Today show every morning and read the paper daily. I simply can't comprehend what these people are going through. I've already made my family's personal donations, but I was trying to think of what else I could do. Here's what I came up with:

For every package booked between now and the end of February $100 will be donated to the American Red Cross's efforts in Haiti. It's that easy! You get to check one more item off your wedding planning to-do list while doing good for those so much less fortunate than you and me. It really is that simple. Once your contract is received I will forward you the receipt from the donation YOU made happen.

New for 2010: Shoot & Share Option

Calling all brides! I've just announced a new package option for 2010 with special pricing if you book before the end of the month! "Shoot & Share" is essentially as the name describes. I shoot, you share. Easy breezy. Clean and simple. (insert more cliches here)...

In this age of "do it yourself" online photo options like Picasa software, Shutterfly albums, etc. I want to give my clients the option and control to do what they want with their images for one low price. I view it as a win/win, as you're getting my services for a much lower price than I typically charge AND you're getting all of your wedding day images in less than a week! Let's not also forget that it may sound like a good idea now to have your friend who's an aspiring photographer take your pics for free, but trust me a year from now you'll wish you'd have just spent the money on a real one. These are your wedding photos, people! They're all you'll have left when the day is a distant memory years from now.

I win because (as my husband will tell you) I LOVE shooting weddings and using my mad skillz, but I am not a fan of the hours and hours of post-process work I typically spend on each collection (this is especially true now that we have two little girls running around the house). My personality doesn't help either, as I'm a type-A who wants everything perfect, so a task that should take a few hours sometimes takes me 10+.

So here's the lowdown for all of you Pioneer Woman, Martha Stewarts who just want to do it yourself:

Cost: $1500
Coverage: 6 hours (additional available for hourly charge)
Images: I'll edit 25-50 of my faves. You get these and the rest of the originals within a week!
Release form: ditto to the above

Book now! The introductory price of $1500 only good through January 31! Price goes up to original on February 1st.

Congrats Jennifer & Dan! Charlotte Wedding 2010

Wasting no time, I jumped right back into shooting weddings this past Saturday on January 2nd. It was the coldest day of the winter yet, but that didn't stop anything! My brave bride and groom even wanted to do some outside shots, so I pulled on the wool coat and said "sure!" The wedding was at an Episcopalian church uptown followed by a GORGEOUS reception at the Havana Social Club in Cornelius. This was a new venue for me, but one I hope to shoot at again. Brides... check it out. It's a beautiful venue full of windows and a really nice coordinator with a fun accent :)

Here are some faves from our chilly day...

Happy 2010!

Merry Christmas... and a happy new year! I hope Santa was good to everyone this year. I had a wonderful Christmas. My husband went overboard on gifts for me (per usual) but now that I'm over the guilt of it, I'm actually enjoying them. The best, by far, was a six month membership to Massage Envy. I usually get 1-2 massages a year. Now I get one every month! Woo hoo!

For all of you girlies who may have gotten a big ole diamond for Christmas... thanks for visiting! I hope you like my work. 2010 is booking up quickly, and I just wiped August off the calendar last week. This means January, May, July, and August are already filled. Outside of that I'm game :)

I have a wedding this Saturday for a couple whose groom may or may not be deployed for his third tour in Iraq at the end of January. I'm really excited for their wedding. We did a quickie engagemnet session in uptown earlier this week. Here are a few faves... and thanks for serving our amazing country, Dan!
